i know if its shootable condition you can load blackpowder to the spec of the day - do not think about smokeless loads in this one ,

theres sites that specialise in shotguns that im sure can help , but theres a few more knowledgable here that can help a lot better than i can so we will both watch to see what they say

That's why I would try Numrich.......they have lots of pieces parts for those kind of things

A lot of those old doubles don't have the greatest interchangeability of parts. Many of the parts were hand fitted and don't fit right from one piece to the other, even of supposedly alike weapons. If the wood is bad, you may have to fabricate a stock from scratch. Were you to find wood for the metal that you have, you might find that none of the metal parts fit very well on the replacement wood. The situation just isn't like milsurp weapons where you can easily swap parts around.

I'd just say make a forearm yourself and leave her as a wall hanger.

I haven't gotten much progress on my Great Grandfather's side by side I was given awhile ago...

Dixie gun works used to sell components for some of these, too. Might be able to get a few parts for a wall hanger there. SW
