Yesterday's Weapons Forums

I've been at this a while. There are no known moschettos from Mussolini's personal guard outside museums let alone one in America, so I set out to make one.

Specific to the model is an engraving of the fascist emblem with stylized "DUX" for Duce. A fellow who was learning to engrave did that for me. Then, over the period of a few years, I bought and traded for most of the nickel plated parts.

Also critical to this project was a handguard. Didn't have one & they're very difficult to find so I cut down an M41 handguard and am in the process of hand fitting that.

First pic is an image of the genuine article - the rest show current progress. I figure it's about 90% done, but the last 10% will be tough. Never say die! SW

very interesting project - do keep posting the progress , i know nothing of these rifles but i do enjoy the learning experience
