This really isn't much of a project - mostly a heads up how easy it is to put one on.
And cheep! Found the mount on sale for a fast $20 with needed allen wrenches and rings included.

Step one - tap the rear sight off left to right. Had to smack mine a lick to get past the stake marks.

Step 2 - slide the mount anchor into the rear sight dovetail.

Step 3 - slide the screw through the mount and crank 'er down.

Step 4 - Add the scope.

I wanted to put an old K-3 Weaver on, but it was a trifle long. I got better eye relief with this no name cheep Chinese garage sale $20 scope.

never thought to do that but glad to know its possible and that easy ,

You need to get a set of adjustable windage rings and you can use your cheap scope.

My Universal was drilled for a side mount.
Pretty good although I get 25% jams caused by shells hitting the scope on ejection and faling back down impeding the bolt.
I have a 9 power scope on it.

Yes, this one has the plastic filler for the side mount. I priced what I needed for that but noticed the scope mounts offset to the left. I'm a lefty & that wouldn't work well for me. Plus this mount was cheeper & included rings. I'm getting a jamb every magazine or two from an empty bouncing off the mount catching the bolt.
