The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. After roy fixed me up with some wonderfully made roundells, i have started the putting her together....

these are the metal "spacers" that are black thingies between the wood cheeks and tailpiece...they help with the lateral recoil forces when the cannon fires.
The amish fellow did a great job in makeing the first of te steel capping pieces...BUT, he thought i needed some screw holes to hold it the wood!!??
so he drilled little hole all over the pieces....*sigh*....i pointed out the 1/2 bolt holes in the wood....THAT is what will hole the metal strapping in place...*AHEM***i wish i spoke german sometimes!!!
not to worry...i will get them holes welded up, then grind them smooth...THEN drill the 1/2 bolt holes......and then start on the attachment pieces~
slow but sure!!!!! :wink:

current weight to date:75lbs~ my baby is growing!

that will be beautiful , i know from where you speak reguarding the $ lately - its that time of year isnt it ?

im also tuned into the future sale , it makes sence to get the winfall out of it , and that would be a bugger to store , but do set it up and fire it a bit first - you know proof it and sight it in and all that :grin:

build 3 and keep 1?....i don'y have THAT many cuss-words! there is ALOT to building/doing this project!....i have learned a bunch about wood/metal scaling/fitting~ and there's more to come.
the thing is getting heavier and heavier to lug around, turn over etc....but it is fun to use big wrench's on my 'gun' project :lol

and yes....i will shoot it when done, as i have a few pounds of powder and fuse~~~and pool balls, ans 6 STEEL cannon balls....

we will see what the 'penetration' will be of a 2" cannon ball.............. :-o

but how to mount a scope on it may pose a problem........
