I would appreciate any assistance in a project that I will be working on it is a 1863 Remington Zouave Musket. The gun is in very good shape for it's age except the tumbler that the hammer fits on is very worn the edeges of the tumbler that should be square are worn rounded and the hammer slips when you try to cock the hammer back. I know that they still make the repro 1863 Zouave Musket, so would a repro part fit a original gun. Any ideas where I should start to look for the part either original or repro would be appreciated.Thanks

check with dixie gun works they will either have repro or original spec parts

I called Dixie Gun Works this morning the guy told me the reproduction parts would not fit a original musket. So I'm still looking.

Purchase the whole lock..I bet that would fit. Otherwise you probably will need a master welder to add metal and then shape it. It would have to be hardeded properly if needed.
