Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

 Post subject: Semi mg 42 update.

finally got a bit more done on the 42 project

Squared up the rear of the barrel shroud.

Also carefully cut the torched barrel bushing right at the join weld

This allowed me to knock the remainder out without grinding the snot out of it

You can see the rear of the torched bushing sitting in the shroud after being tapped out.

Soon the big order will go in for the rest of the parts I need then we will see some progress.

ok for don and others who are wondering what i am up to.

I am building a semi automatic version of the german mg-42 machine gun
from a parts kit I purchased from SOG

Heres what is in the parts kit

I am using a 80% receiver blank to complete it along with other parts available online. the build has to follow specific protocols to be legal.

on completion it will be a belt fed semi auto chambered in 8-mm mauser.

and look like this
