Don, and everyone that has one.

Are the 410 conversions multiple shot? That is does the clip and magazine function very well with 410 shotshells?

Seems to me that I've seen a bolt action shotgun that used a thin metal guide that was pushed back into a slot in the receiver by the forwards stroke of the bolt.

I can't remember the model of gun that it was, I think it was a 12 or 16 gauge.
The shells came up nose high and the guide prevented their coming up far enough to contact the breech at the top of the chamber opening.

I think the mechanism was meant to allow use of both shorter star crimped and the longer roll crimped hulls interchangably in an action that otherwise could handle one but not the other.

BTW
I may have found an unchambered .410 barrel blank that I could use for my Enfield conversion.
If I can get the shank turned and threaded does anyone have a .410 reamer I could rent or borrow?
I could send the barrel to be reamed if thats more convenient.

If not can anyone recomend a smith that will chamber the barrel, preferably one who doesn't have a long waiting list, and won't charge an arm and a leg.

Wow.....Ive had "410 Mosin" on my mind, as I do have a rusted out 91, witha walnut stock just begging for a new life.....

Where do you get such bored out any hoo?
