A friend from work silver brazed on a new front sight today & it's ready to go blast away! I need to crown the muzzle as mentioned in another thread and cold blue a little. Got this from Kaintuck in a trade. SW

Is that still rimfire or have you converted it?

It's a center fire now and shoots well with the dedicated Lee bullet mold. It was one of the Vetts Sears sportered back in the day when Rem made the RF ammo. Since the wood & magazine had already been monkeyed with, I shortened the barrel & had a new sight brazed in place. SW

I have one with matching numbers and a shortened barrel. I keep saying
"I should convert it"
"But it's matching numbers"
"But it's already shortened"
"But it's matching numbers"
"But it's already shortened"
"But it's matching numbers"
"But it's already shortened"

Actually it's probably more that if I botch the conversion it is even more useless. And Yes, I CAN botch something that simple. I have someone who says he can convert another bolt and sell it to me ... once fishing and hunting season is over.

I have a chance at a full-length one tomorrow. If that one is good and I get it I'll feel easier about doing the conversion on this one. And then swapping bolts if they are interchangeable.
