Heres some pics of installment #1 of my nepalese martini. 2 cracks to repair in stock no wood rot got the barrel bands off. Badly pitted underside of the barrel (as expected) none deep enough to preclude firing the rifle especially given the pressure curve of a blackpowder round. Action opens and closes. Bore is suprisingly good GG |

well after struggling to remove the action screw i discovered some Nepalese armorer replaced it with a pin. probably because he stripped out the screw. I'll fire up the lathe and make a replacement. And after soaking in wd 40 and blaster for a day or so it was just a couple taps and out drops the action. should clean up well looks to be in decent shape. more to come GG |

well good news and bad news. Action is apart all springs are intact but the firing pin is busted. I have me a few ideas on how to fix it up better than new. time to fire up the lathe. GG |

Shouldn't be a big deal to silver braze in something like a busted decapping rod or needle bearing. http://www.ima-usa.com/advanced_search_ ... tini+parts Or if you want to keep things original, they do sell firing pins separately. SW |

I got my action back together. Since I don't have a lathe, I made a new action screw from 6mm x 40mm bolts I got at home depot. The threads were the right pitch & everything. My firing pin tip is bent but I think I'll leave well enough alone & not try to bend it back. I gots my chores mostly done & since it's going to be hot today, I'll work on finishing my 2 band Snider - got some pics to post... if my camera comes home. I'll take a few pics of my Francotte stock, too. Got it all cleaned & ready to glue - might rout out the crack & glue in a plug... I gots a little time to think about it. SW |
