Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

I'm absolutely brand new to black powder reloading. Can anybody suggest a good book on the subject. I really want to be safe as can be with black powder since I think its touchier than smokeless, which I have no fear of for some reason.

Their are several black powder guns I am interested in, but have no idea on how to safely handle black powder. This and I'm broke now (Daddy wants a new Arisaka).

Best Regards,

Mark

BTW, looks like I need to cast lead bullets as well if I use black powder. I think I need money and a lobotomy for that.

The main item is to leave no air space between powder and bullet. Also use a wad of some sort. I like Walters Veggie wads. Post your specific data needs here & we should be able to get you in the ballpark. SW

I might add that Lyman publishes good information on BP both muzzle loader and cartridge.
