...Without using expensive dedicated dies. I got my Italian service revolver (Bodeo or "Bode" if you speak Italian) today and wanted to fire it. Airdale told me to FL size using 303 Brit dies. I haven't those, but reasoned 30-40 Krag dies would work as well. They did! He trimmed old 44 Spl brass to .89", but I had some Starline 44 Russian on hand for my Uberti 1872 Colt open top clone. I trimmed a couple back to .89 per spec from Cartridges of the World, but after running 44 Russian brass through the 30-40 FL size die, they fit the cylinder just fine! So I FL sized with 30-40 dies, belled and seated bullets with 44 Russian dies, and ran the cases with bullet back into the 30-40 FL die to remove the bell and taper crimp. OAL was 1.25" No real results for group or velocity as the wind was blowing too hard for anything meaningful. More on loading this cartridge in another post, but now you have options for cases. SW |

Rad, I just removed the decapping rod and ran the cases in as far as possible. SW |

No. The steps are so basic, I didn't feel any were needed. I just got in & am about to load some 10.35 ammo for range testing. I'll take a few pics of that, but it's also pretty basic stuff that everyone here has done before. The load information and exterior ballistics are pretty much all that's different from loading any other caliber. SW |
