Just spent a very enjoyable weekend with friends from (way) "east of here". My friend's wife got me a Soviet RR "Medal of Merit" from the ministry of transportation that fits right in with my Euro RR medal grouping.

In honor of cameras I've sent him, her father - a retired Soviet air force colonel - sent me this "Panamanka" or army campaign hat worn in Afghanistan. My friend got me the Glock knife. SW

Were your friends from "way East" visiting there with you?

Yes. They wanted to hunt rattlesnakes, but the weather was too cool for them. They also wanted to shoot fireworks (illegal in Europe) and spend time at the range.

They had a great time shooting stuff too expensive there or outright illegal. Like my M1A, ARs and the evil RPD. Their 13 y/o daughter burned up a lot of ammo in my Marlin match target rifle with Hubble telescope.

She can take safety classes there but can't shoot until she's a certain age. You should have seen her grin to shoot small groups.

I hooked my friend up with a NH non-rez CCW permit so he can legally carry concealed in Arizona where they're spending two weeks. He was amazed it could legally be done.

A great time was had by all! SW

Great. Glad they had a good time, always fun to let someone from another country enjoy our freedoms.
had a young girl from China a few years ago want to go shooting, we took her and she had a blast.
When she moved here and married the first thing she did was buy a Kimber .45. She really did quite well with my Para, but couldn't find one.
