Found this S&W 1 1/2 new tip-up 2nd issue at a local gun show sitting in a box of mixed old smith and colt grips. Guy said it didn't work and he was selling as a parts gun. Brought it home pulled it apart cleaned, removed a bit of surface rust, oiled, and put her back together. The grips are numbered to the pistol and everything is working right. Not a lot of finish left but what can you expect from a pistol over 150 years old. Not to bad for a "parts gun".

I like the ejector rod under the barrel - Marlin tip ups appear very similar. I've shot a 22 tip up with CB caps but I'm not brave enough to shoot a 38 S&W. SW |

Found it at gun show in a nearly dead mall in ohio, lots of junk, jerky, jewelry, mil. surp. thats never been approved by anybody, real cheap fantasy blades, and the usual assortment of basement ffl gun dealers. She works now. Pulled the side plate clean out the crude oiled and put back together now functions as it should. Bore even has good rifling with just a few pits. Doubt I'll ever shoot it. I like shooting Black powder but I hate loading it into cartridges. But oddly I do not mind making paper wrapped rounds. |

You can always put Flobert rounds through it ![]() They are essentially a primer with a BB in it ![]() The copper ones in the middle. They are 'gallery' rounds for indoor use |

Now that is something that I never would have thought of. But are they made for a .32 long rim fire? I have only seen them in 22. The 2nd issue tip up 1 1/2 had a 5 round fluted cylinder in .32 long rimfire not the earlier .22. |
