On another site I happened to see this Gahendra offered for sale at a very low price. Seller advertised it as "needing work". The price was so low I jumped on it. Sent a MO on my way to work & got it in last night.
The work needed amounted to putting a hammer spring retaining screw in and pulling the cleaning rod out a couple inches. It will not cock with the rod all the way in. Easy-peasy. I'll use a Dremel cut off wheel & take an inch or 2 off. I don't use the rod anyway.
Dang! I never get that lucky! Went right back together & no parts left over! I badly want to test fire it, but the roads are too crappy out where I shoot. Next week maybe. I'll replace a couple screws & pins just to spiff it up. I thought about selling it right away... I'll see how it shoots first.
Regular Martinis take a .468 boolet, but Gahendras and Francottes take a .458 which means all the boolets I have rat holed for 45-70 are good to go! I use 45-90 data.
Life is good!
