Crosman 101 in .22 cal. It dates to 1929 from what I've been able to determine via google-fu. Semi sourdough front in brass is a good one.... ...as is the very basic peep rear. That's how it groups from kneeling at 25 feet with 5 of the 14.3 gr Daisy h.p. pellets. She did not shoot outta the box- the leather piston seal disintegrated with a touch of a fingernail. Stacked O-rings in the seal channel until she would pump up. She was gifted to me at a cost of zero, zip and de-nada Regards, Doc Sharptail |

Amazing! Most people (including me) don't think something like that will shoot again for lack o parts. SW |

There are still parts being made for it, believe it or not, by independent bsmt. home machinists... Someone was prescient enuff to fill the valve with oil for long term storage purposes... I am tempted to go for a replacement piston seal and oil-wiper for it. Leery of going any further into it though- valve seals that old will not likely survive a simple dismantle. I does hafta make a couple of pin wrenches for it. Meantimes, I'm just shootin the heck out of it, and having a grand old time! Regards, Doc Sharptail |

Hi there ! Since you're into airguns; I have an "old" air rifle my mother gave me recently. She inherited it from an aunt (over 30 years ago) who got it God knows where from. It's German, 4,5mm, spring action. ERMA made and has DRGM proofmark. I'm figuring it's 1930's. No pedalling parrot stamps though ;-) I'll show it to Steve next week and he can make some pictures. I have no idea how I could get it to you if you would be interested in acquiring it, but that's something we can break our heads over later. BRGDS, A |

I'd like to see photographs of it for sure! An Erma air rifle is interesting! Regards, Doc Sharptail |

No problemo. Please help me remind Steve to make the pix. He can even try it out if he wants, still works fine and seems quite powerful to me. BRGDS, A |

If he's gonna shoot it, get him to chew some gum. That springer vibration takes a bit of getting used to, and is kinda hard on dental fillings. Erma made a decent lever air gun, patterned after their .22 LR lever gun (which became the Henry rimfire lever loved by so many nowadays)... I'm fairly certain that the Erma lever air-gun morphed into the Walther lever airgun- they look quite the same. Older specimens of their rimfire guns appear to be top-notch quality. I'd expect the same for their older air guns. Regards, Doc Sharptail |
