It's been a long long while since I've been able to post here,
but finally here's a new buy !
Beretta 22lr. Like new condition with two 10-round mags.
Was priced 375 but got it for 350. No permit needed as it's a 22 and I have a sportshooting liscence
My excuse? Natasha's S&W mod 41 is acting up, stovepiping all the time. So wife needs a new gun. Maybe I'll try it out myself. Ya know, just to make sure it works rite ...
Deeheehee :Dbounce:
(these are the actual pix of the gun)

The 41 is supposed to be "tune-able" somehow via spring replacement, from what I've read.

Watch out for the slide under rails on that Beretta. They tend to be razor sharp, and a low grip is definitely recommended. I still bear a scar on the web between thumb and fingers from Dad's 3" bbl Minx- from too high a grip...

Not a fan of thumb-rest grips- especially on a semi-auto frame, but to each his own.
They probably work well for those who know what they are doing with classic target pistol stances ;)

Oh yeah, nice score!

Interesting lookin rear sight.

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

Never had any problems with the S&W 41 before, until it just started stovepiping occasionally and now with each round fired ... It's not dirty, I took it apart & cleaned it & put it back together .... To be continued ...

Tried the Beretta this am. Shoots just fine ! It's lighter than the 41 and the triggerpull is not as smooth (might be adjustable, have to check) but it slips in your hand like a glove.
It's also a very good-looking pistol. Normally I don't go for these kinda target grips either, but these are exquisite. Unless you're a southpaw ;)
It's a good target pistol but would serve as well as a critterkiller.

Check your recoil spring, it may have gone bad and needs to be replaced.
And lube up your rails with a GOOD light grease.

Yeah I was figuring it would be the recoil spring.
How could I see if it's gone bad ?
Pistol has been cleaned & lubed.

Only way I know is to have a spring weight tool and measure the pounds of compression at a given distance.
Or if the gun has had a lot of rounds run through it, say 4-6K then you should change the spring.
Normal for 1911 is 1-2K rounds. For and AR buffer spring 4-6K.
Numrich Gun Parts has the spring @ $2.45, maybe a friend in Neb. can send you a couple.
Grease the slide rails with a Light grease and every so often add a couple of drops of oil down the rails.
Timing and ammo are critical in semi-auto .22's, especially if they are run dry.
