I've been helped by the usual suspect to pick up different Euro RR items, the most recent of which is this 1920s vintage cond pocket watch. Got it for cheep since the ad said, "not running".

The box with other cool stuff arrived today & the first thing I did was pop the back on the watch. I moved the faster/slower lever about 2mm & it took off running!!!!

I'll let it run overnight & see what's up tomorrow. It will mostly be a display item with my other Euro RR stuff. I really like it!! :Dbounce: SW

I think the wording remitior or whatever, means its got a movement that is constant....as the spring unwinds...this type, keeps its same pressure....I told you about the other one I bought.....she loves it!

And the Elgin is off to Jacobs friend, Jacob thinks he can fix it with a new stem for about 40clams.... :jmp:
I think my sister will get that one IF Jacob gets it fixed.

But, that's a cool watch...now you need a chain and fob!!!

Remontoir Cylindre" isn't the manufacturer. It simply means that the watch has a cylinder escapement. "10 Rubis", of course, means that it is a 10-jewel movement."
I can't find who made mine.....it has a serial number of 26137.....and on the inside bake case is marked 'curve'....which I found out means ...not gold..
But it runs, and the past owner said 1918 manufacture.

Hogger.......yours has Swiss made"......I can't find a makers Swiss mark on mine....I need to find my loop, and look it over good.....

.....have an all silver Hunter's Watch that used to be wifey's great grandfathers...an Elgin that the serial # dates it to 1886 manufacture.....still works,just occasional hiccups...needs work-and a new replacement glass face cover...original shattered over the years....cant seem to find replacement or any local jewelers to work on ir....either no experience or no interest

There is a place in new your that will fix it......but get the BIG checkbook out.....they wanted 644.00 to fix my Elgin ..... :kap:

We told them just mail it back please..... :crzy:

it is not junk - its treasures that need appreciation , i only hope someone in the future appreciates what we do about it , there is so much lost of the past that was special , too much is lost , forgotten , ignored , its good we appreciate it and caretake for now

my sister has my great grandfathers and my great uncles - eurika springs ak , and alliance , ne , she also has my great aunts telegraph from alliance , ne .........i have both of their radios - they still work , waiting for war of the worlds to come on at halloween , i play them then ,
