Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Been on a bit of a pellet pistol spree of late...

Upper left: Walther PPQ by Umarex. It actually has the best sights of the lot with a goldish 3 dot system borrowed from the S&W semi-auto line.

Upper right is the Beretta 92-FS by Umarex. It is the most accurate of the lot. German built, I suspect a choked Lothar Walther bbl in there. Sights were definitely made for real life shooting situations. I can see them fine out-doors. They tend to "black-out" over the standard 7 yard pistol bull indoors.

Lower left is the Crosman Vigilante in .177. It is very light in weight for what it is- a 6" bbl revolver. It is the most powerful of the lot, breaking 440 fps with a 7.0 gr wadcutter. Trigger is the heaviest of the lot.

Lower right is the Colt SAA artillery model discussed elsewhere. It sights and shoots fine outdoors.

I still would like to find a Walther CP-88 Competition model. Maybe sometime this summer...

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

Yes, they are! Was fortunate enough to make the gravel pit for the first time this year on Friday morning. Have another homebuilt conversion that I wanted to test at 20 yds for velocity/p.o.i. differences, but it was far too windy and cold for such fine work....
Crosman 2100 converted to Crosman 13-XX valve and fire control system:
Looks a little beastly, and deservedly so. She cracked 925 f.p.s. in the early developmental stage- with just a hair too much preload on the hammer spring

Just had to try for that soda can pull-ring tab rivet with the pistols at ten paces. The Beretta was the only one to cut the mustard....
Couldn't hit the recessed primer on a live 7.62 X 39 round that I found out there with the pistols- I simply couldn't see it. Switched to a scoped .177 rifle, and it popped right away...
Must have been early 80's Russki ball of some sort- copper case with Cyrillic markings and an 81-E for head-stamp. Undoubtedly a f.t.f. from an SKS. They are very popular here...
