Cabela's has these on for a hundred bucks off their regular price, so I grabbed one. Smith and Wesson 586-6" in .177 cal. pellet. The pellet cylinder holds 10 pellets.
It's packed in plastic hard case with a cleaning brush, 2 cylinders, and 2 spare front (plastic) sights. The C/O-2 piercing system is positive, and as about close to fool proof as you're gonna get.
Had it out in the 42 F rain today for a quickie function test and brief shoot.
10 8.2 gr RWS Meister wadcutters at 12 yds, fired in single action as fast as I could.
Low temperature effects on p.o.i. are quite obvious, showing the C/O-2 power drop-off.
I actually like this one quite a bit, since I can do some rudimentary hitting with it over the open irons, despite my geezer eye-sight.
We're fore-cast long range for next week-end to be low 70's. I'd like to get a proper shooting test done then. It's loud, and a hog on gas- 40 shots for a 12 gram bulb.
Good accuracy potential is there~ I think this one too has a Lothar Walther bbl on it.
Regards,
Doc Sharptail
