Scored a bit of a beater Weaver at a small, local rural show on Saturday.

This one sort of covers a hole in my collection...

It's a Weaver KV ~ Weaver's first production variable. I had not seen one in person before. The decision to buy came slowly- it's a bit marked up from decades of hunting use. No signs of abuse though. Glass is clear, and it hast the standard fine cross-hair reticle.

Roll stamps on the elevation plate. This scope had a bit of a production life, from 1950 to 1964. I believe this is a late production scope. The end cap retainer rings are aluminum.

Not much of a magnification range, by today's standards. 2 3/4 - 5 X. It may have been a favorite for woods deer hunters. I like the wide open 2 3/4 X myself.

There it is mounted on my test .177 carbine. It seems to hold a repeatable zero. It was very breezy and cold. Will re-zero indoors, and see how it stands up.

Eye relief increases with decrease in magnification. It's about 4 1/2" at 2.75 X, and about 2 1/2" at 5 X.

Now to find a K 2.5....
