Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Finally full-frame!
It's wearing my favorite 85mm F1.8 nikkor here.

Box and camera and it's 502 (!) page manual.

What a huge difference over APSC.
Second hand and a little beat up and scuffed from a camera shop.
I paid less than 1/3rd of what flea-pay asks for these.
One of my first images with it in the photo section...

Doc Sharptail

Selecting your gear for a photo expedition could be a real process! I like it! SW

Bit of a gain in weight and size over the D-200.
Of course, the 24 x 36 mm sensor has bit to do with that.

My editing suite is having trouble with the full size images.
IIRC, it is 36 mega pixels, which may have some bearing on my system's troubles working with the images on simple tasks like re-sizing.
I need to investigate this further.
At present, I'm hoping I don't need a new computer.
In the mean-time, I can reduce the images a bit on the camera side-
which sort of defeats the whole purpose of full frame.
I'll post here what I can find out...

In the long run, I still think I'm ahead of the game.
I have a lot to check out on the camera yet.
There's a quiet shutter mode on it that I have to read up on, and a secondary front shutter for flash photography.
Not sure yet what to make of it. There's an eye-piece shutter on it too- the hall-mark of a Nikon pro camera...
