Image

Did I mention this thing rocks? ;)

1/10 sec. ISO 1600, f 1.8.

That's right: One Tenth of a second hand-held.
85mmf1.8 Nikkor wide open.
It's an in-camera monochrome conversion.
Taking the image to a 70% crop shows camera shake blur.
Next time I try this, I'll push another stop to ISO 3200 :-o

No where near the image degradation I was expecting, especially after 11 at night.
I still have to find if there's a monochrome shooting mode.
Ton's of mode menu's to wade through...
I am pumped on the image quality of this thing.
There quite a hefty buffer backed processor in there too...

Supposed to start raining here sometime today, and then turning to snow again.
The rest of the week is going to hover right around the freezing mark, which makes driving "interesting" to say the least.

I have a whole slew of lenses to test on this full frame format.
With the 810, the big sensor is everything that it's hyped up to be so far.
I haven't played with the upper end ISO's yet. With some of my lenses, staying below mid-range looks do-able, for the time being.
The shutter on this camera is incredibly quiet.
It gives a muted thud sound, rather than the whap, ting, clank of the D-200.
I think it's gonna be okay for trail walks, when I finally get around to it.
