Glad my name is not on that list!! I am fixated on the Carcanos at the moment. Nebrhogger is the world of info on them here and has been a great help to me in my hunt.

With the Mas 36 are you looking for a true WW2 era?

Yeah, needs to be between 1938 to 1945 for me. The closer to the start the better. Got something? Of course I wouldn't argue with a 36 or a 37 either

I consider the true start of WWII when Hitler took the Sudetenland in 1938, but thats probably just the Czech in me talking!

I bought an SA marked Carcano awhile ago, but it's kinda an odd-ball in my WWII collection. Just like my Vz24 made for the Romanians! *lol*

I am the same for the MAS 36's, mine are in the WW2 range starting with an early one (vichey) serial number 255? serial is on the top area of the receiver and up to my 1940 dated barrel rifle.

I have been patient with the Mas rifles the price on them goes up and down like crazy. I had a refurbish one once but sold it when I learned it was refurbished in the 60's.

I have an SA marked Carcano but I consider it a Fin rifle. There are some decent WW2 dated Carcanos out there but I am picky and always check to see if the stock matches the rifle number.

Around here if you can find a Carcano the dealer either thinks its a junk gun or one made of gold? I have fired one of my SA marked 7.35 rifles and found it to be a nice shooting rifle. Now the 8mm conversion was a brute in which I fired 3 shots and that was enough.

Sadly, round here MAS' just don't exist, and I'm skittish about buying things through Gunbroker.

Yeah, I consider my SA Carcano to be a Finn rifle as well. Mines a Terni. We'll have to exchange serial numbers and see if our rifles are close at all.

That is very nice, did you buy it from Bruce? It looks like his great photos of rifles!!

One of mine is serial number G6810 and the other is Q50. The G68101 is dated 1938 and the Q50 is double dated 1898 and 1939. I would post photos of mine but I don't have any good ones. Well here is one with both of them.
