Yeah same here!! I just spent 40.00 for 100 rounds of 1938 dated ammo on clips and that hurt!! But I wanted to shoot the 7.35's. As to Gunbroker I have not had many problems. One rifle was not matching as described and 2 were slightly damaged when they arrived here one of those I think was shipped that way but the seller disagrees. I would rather walk into a store or gun show and hand pick but there are now very few stores around here and the gun shows sellers want you to wait the 10 days required by state law and to Dros them (an extra 25.00 to the state). Our law here is very clear if its over 50 years it can be sold from person to person with no paper work but no one wants to take the chance. |

The Dros is a way of charging you for the Cal DOJ to put your purchase into a state run data base so they know what you have bought and the 10 day waiting period is a "cooling off period" never mind that most folks already have a gun at home so there is no need for the waiting period. Let alone those of us who are LE and carry off duty still have to wait. Funny how I go into a store with a loaded firearm and have to wait 10 days just in case I am buying the gun that day to go shoot someone. I cant wait to retire!! When I would buy an old gun from a shop that would not take my C&R I would cringe at the thought of paying an extra 25.00 for a gun.

Maybe the imports will drive down the price of the IJ' and Universals. Maybe able to afford one then.

A few years ago there were some nicely built IMI (Israeli) m1's around that were in the 400-500 range. I don't know about other parts of the country but they are all GI parts on a new receiver. I have not however seen them on GB or AA. |

unfortunately , so do i , but i can see the logic in doing it the other way , now if the right deal would just come along
back to mikeys topic - did you fab that stock and what are the legalities of a folder like that ? it looks to be a neet item - id like one like that , ive often thought of such a project but i do not want to do anything illeagal and i dont want to mess with a GI carbine , i had watched for a cheap-damaged-repairable SKS , one day ........... |
