Sis scored this for reasonable in a thrift shop, with a bit of tackle.
I didn't have much hope for it at first~ it was binding up badly on retrieve.



I got it home and got all the dried out lithium grease, WD-40 and sand out of it.
Re-lubed with silicone grease and silicone oil.
It now runs like a smooth spinning top.
No plastics or synthetics inside this. It's all aluminum, stainless steel and brass on the inside, except for a vulcanized rubberized canvas backing plate for the drag, and a bakelite drag knob and retrieve handle.
A floofle search turned up date of manufacture to '69-'70.
I'll be trying this at this spring's open water. Hopefully it's going to hold up for a while.

These home-made wet flies...



...and a fairly good clone of a decent walleye spoon. Included were the old timey leader and snap swivel and 20-30 of these bait-holder worm hooks.

I'm going to try drifting those wet flies on the current at Hazel creek with my light walleye out fit. The pike in there have been known to snap at the occasional May Fly.

I found out why it ended up in thrift shop- it was missing a washer behind the drag plate.
That made the spool sit too low for level line winding.
I put a loose fit washer in behind the drag plate, and it now spools line properly.
I'll have to find a fender washer for a better fit behind the drag plate.
Can't wait for may 15- aprox 68 days to go

very nice , ive had daiawa reels but never a spinning reel , i like the idea of all metal bits if it had been nylon they might well have been destroyed by all that goop inside , bet this will serve your needs for a good long time ,

the only spinning rigs i have left are a couple ambassadors - they work great and ill hang onto them , i used to have mitchels spinning and johnsons spin casters but all those are gone now , most everything else is casting gear ,
