peruvian 1891? if so, i've never seen one that clean. a german kar98az with the correct stock would just be icing on the cake.

Can you fill me in on the Kar98a?
I am not very knowledgeable on these. It is a 1917 Erfurt
in a 20's dated stock The rifle parts match, the stock & buttplate
are matching but not to the rifle.

Any info would be appreciated

Kar98AZ will be the one for the best knowledge on these but I'll toss my words in here. First of all I think they are the best looking and handling of the 98's.

After the "war to end all wars" the nice little Germans where allowed a few arms and those 98's that were allowed and used by the govt were dated with a 1920 on the receiver along with the rifle's build date. Most of them over time were rebuilt into the standard carbine seen during WW2 and many are now hunting rifles.

The turned bolt with the flat/knurled side is the correct bolt for the rifle. I have 3 of these rifles (and need more) 2 with the matching bolts and other parts and one with a mis match (but correct style bolt). One of the matching needs a stock so if you want to donate "say the stock to me" that would make me happy.

I have a small pdf file with a little info for them and I'll email it to you as I don't know how to post it. Here is a few links for some more info on the rifle, there really is not much out there for them at the moment.

Check on the bottom of the stock by the wrist there should be some Weimer markings and the number that was to match the rifle. These markings are most of the time very faint.

Small ring and cock on open. I have seen these rifles with the bolts from newer K98's and even straight bolts.





And as other KAR's they numbered just about everything, all matching is hard I have one but somebody thought the stock needed a sanding

The one above is all matching but for the cut stock.

Just a note, the stock is also numbered to the rifle it just was cut at the band like a duffel cut. Alas the other parts did not show up.

I am thinking the same thing, but to find the front part of the stock maybe hard but its worth the wait to me.

I did see a stock set for sale recently but it was a polish large ring and it was $ 125.00
