Anybody else here the news?

Taken from http://www.charlesdaly.com/

Quote:
To all our friends, fans, supporters and consumers of Charles Daly and by extension, KBI products, I regret to inform you that the rumors of our demise are true.

KBI is going out of business and closing its doors, effective today, January 29, 2010.

I don't want to go into each and every detail as to why this has occurred, except to say that there have been a multitude of events over the past five years that have contributed to our current situation.

For those of you with ongoing service requirements please be advised that we are currently negotiating with several companies that will be performing after-sale service of Charles Daly, CD Defense and Jericho firearms. As soon as we have finalized a contract with one of these companies we will post the name, address and contact details of that company on www.CharlesDalyForum.com, so you will know who to contact to obtain service on your KBI firearm.

Again, I wish to thank all of you that have supported our company, Charles Daly and all the other fine firearms that we have sold over the years.. This spells the end of KBI but I imagine it will certainly not mean the end of Charles Daly® and CD Defense™. Look for this excellent brand to resurface in the very near future.

Sincerely,
Michael B. Kassnar, President
K.B.I., Inc.

With the run on guns we just had, they sure must have been doing something wrong that they went under.

Near as I can remember the Charles Daly brandname was often put on substandard products due to a lack of diligence on the part of buyers.

Only problems I had with a Charles Daly branded product was with .22 RF ammo bearing that name.
I'd picked up several boxes on a closeout sale and gave several boxes to my brother.
We were test firing a new autopistol of his and a bullet stuck in the bore to be struck by the next of round. It near blew the slide off.
Other charles Daly products carried by that store were sold off cheap at that time due to many customer complaints.

I've avoided buying charles daly brand stuff since then, but every few years I'd run across complaints about their products.

I bought a CD rifle a few years ago in 3006 and it was made by Zastava. The only problem I found with it was the scope holes was drill off just a little, had to get a windage adjustable rings to get it on paper.

I used to have a CD 12ga semiauto. Never had a problem with it. Sold it to my cousin when I decided to go into reloading and bought a double barrel. Hated to chase down the cases after shooting and it seemed to send them a fair distance away. In some of the places I have shot sporting clays it was impossible to recover them.

I'm gonna assume that either 1) you have a time-machine, or 2) that was a typo.

However I really am hoping that you do have a time-machine cause 1) that would be cool and 2) I'd like to know when if ever will the Cubs win the World Series again? LOL :lol :lol :lol :lol

Ammo? I never knew they put their name on ammo.

I got this rifle just before Remington took over the importing of the mauser type rifles from Zastava. Midway is now importing the actions and barreled actions.

I think that many of their guns were made in the Philippines.

No one has any sense of humor. I plan on being here in 3006 IF I can live that long.

For all of you skeptics that would cal 30 M2 ball.
