Thanks Et2ss. I got an aluminum one a few years ago and use it as intended. I wish they made those for some of my other rifles. How's the brass one do? Is any gentler?

Maybe but the Alu is softer than steel & shouldn't scuff the bluing too badly.

The Alu were issued during the war as Brass was in short supply.

I'll be for sure to avoid dealing with them. WOW!

looks like the piece i bought from omega.. i wanted the piece for bM 44 / T-53 so they cut barrel piece 1/4" from end of pivot for bayonet.no globe sight on on it and--- just as rusty. i wanted it so i could see if i removed the 2 pins and removed the bayonet fixture i could cut it just behind ring sight base. i really don't need a bayonet hanging on my carbine.
