...to import flare pistols? They are not considered actual firearms?

A friend in Italy just picked up 7 rifles from the Terni arsenal and sez they are going to sell off some flare pistols sometime in the future. I hope to grab an early Italian example.

He got an Italian Garand for $700 which I believe is a deal. The Carcanos he bought are about 5X more expensive than we can get them here.

Recently, he was whining around how hard it is to buy rifles in Italy - "you Americans can have an M2 machine gun or "a cannon in your garden!"

It isn't a firearm nor has it been classified as a destructive device so it isn't a problem as far as I know

I got back with him to see about pricing & it's not going to happen. Even after Terni prices them, they are classed as actual handguns in Italy.

Meaning I would have to buy a collector's permit @ 250 EUD and pay a honker export fee. After they "investigate me" to see if I fall into their criteria for a collector. Then he sez it can be "years" before they actually sell the item.

I'll just watch the auctions & maybe someday luck into a vet bringback.

This is just one of many designs & is from WW1. Some use the Bodeo grip frame. I'll find one someday. SW

The catch is that I wouldn't need to have it imported here... just pay to have it EXPORTED from there. Crazy as heck & I've completely lost interest. SW.

If I had a lathe & mill......I'd make you a gen-you-wine example (to sell on fleabay of course)
