I'm considering a Pieta 1858 Rem repro BP revolver as sold by Cabelas since they still on sale. Are the 45 Colt cylinders a viable accessory? What kind of accuracy is typical? I have reloading dies and a variety of bullets on hand.

Anybody here mess around with one? SW

I haven't used, but have long contemplated one for my Uberti cattleman's Carbine

That would keep your cheeks from getting peppered by percussion cap fragments anyway. SW

buddy had one, he really liked it, and it shot very good!....just not a quick reload on horse back.....you had to drop the cylinder out, load chambers, then position the little plate dillybob on said cylinder and place the whole thing back into the frame..........

cool factor 10 though!

A member of another board had one of these conversions blow up in his face recently.

I've been looking in on the thread where they are discussing the blow up.

Three chambers blew out completely, the frame was messed up where the barrel screws in.

It could have been a reloading error, or from the damage to the frame it may have fired with the chamber out of alignment.

Anyway I'd prefer to use light loads or BP only loads in a converted C&B revolver.
