Yesterday's Weapons Forums

I was in the local excuse for a pawn shop looking for a used hard case to ship a rifle. No dice that way so I wandered over to the gun rack. Everything was way high - particularly 3 EBRs in the rack. $1200 and up.

But on the far end behind a stack of cheep BA shotguns was a Cimarron Spencer SRC! In darn nice shape! Priced @ $ 1300. Which didn't seem too bad, but only dum basses pay sticker price in pawn shops. I've bought stuff there before & think if I waved 10 Benjamins under the guy's nose, it would change ownership.

But I've been pretty active on gunborker the past few weeks & shouldn't get too carried away... so I watched what was going on in the place - a BUNCH of people lined up to pawn stuff. Some low-rent looking gal was trying to pawn a ratty acoustic guitar for $200... I heard them offer her $25.

So if I wait a bit, it might be a buyers market in there... Hopefully someone will grab it & remove the temptation. SW

Speaking of temptation - I just finished a Christmas tradition here... peanutbutter pies for niece & nephews. My sister used to make them during the holidays, but she's gone now so I do the deal. I have her recipe committed to memory.

Ex BiL and her had a good relationship & I'm still on cordial terms with him, so he gets one, too. Last one is for my hunting pard, LarryBob.

I was tempted to make another for myself, but... well I'll try leave well enough alone and just lick the spatula. Darn tasty! SW

...those are neat rifles if its what i think they are
.....as for the pies-all thats missing is a bunch of chocolate melted and drizzled on top...

56-50 caliber which would be expensive even if I reloaded. So I'll hold off until next year & if someone hasn't grabbed it I might make a low offer just to hear them screech. SW

those are nice looking rifle/carbines , whats one go for new ?

I wouldn't mind a 44-40 rifle by that maker.....but the $$$ seems a bit high, I have a friend with a shop~they pay dime on the dollar....and will take way less after it sits for a while from the sticker price~
