Yesterday's Weapons Forums

Went thru a big box of spent brass (about 30 lb worth) looking for .45acp brass. Disappointment followed. Only found 10 cases. Well this is better than nothing so I took them into my gun maintenance room to throw them into the tumbler. Went looking on the shelves behind boxes and found 2 500 round boxes of .22lr I bought back in the day when it was easy to find them at the local wally world. Totally forgot I had them. Got to looking around some more and found out that I have a lot more Yugo 8mm on stripper clips than I thought I had. I had squirlled away a 980 round case of it(still unopened).
Overall I would say it was a good day.

Shoot - that's $100 or more worth of 22 ammo!

Had a little luck myself... a fellow in Czech Republic had asked for Italian Service Revolver pics last week & while taking those I could NOT find the one I have with Arabic markings. Looked everywhere.

I was about ready to write it off to aliens in the gun room ( again) but when I was rooting through my powder cabinet looking for a pound o' 700X, there it was! In a soft case I don't recall owning.

I don't recall putting it there, either... aliens, I tell you! SW

One of the cabinets I store ammo in has a little, rather ignored compartment on the bottom. About once a year, I look in there and rediscover its contents. There is a GI can full of M1 Rifle ammo on en bloc clips in bandoliers, some .22 LR and a GI can with military 8x56R ammo, some German, some Hungarian, on clips in boxes. Plus a couple of other things I've already forgotten about again.

Speaking of GI ammo boxes, have you noticed how much those have gone up in price?? Wow, I was at a gun show this past weekend and they were selling for $8 to $16, depending on size. I don't know how much is attributable to inflation and how much to Prepper mania.

my wife is wondering why i confiscated the bottom shelf-of the two first floor closets [floor] for the ammo cans that seem so pointless , i told her the 308/223/45acp/9mm/22lr was very valuable , i think she bought it ..........but may just be that she cant5 move it :>}
