I was actually in & it wasn't a bad show. Saw a NICE Rem-Hepburn falling block in 38-55 for 4 large.

One seller had a GAGGLE of 1903 Springfields & Garands. A few of the Garands were in the 500 range. He said he 'put them together'. He had a nice Rockola carbine for 600... the wood didn't match so he must have put that together, too.

Not much for Marlins... NO Italian or Steyrs... Saw a Marlin 1895M in 450 for 350. I probably should have bought it, but it wasn't ported. The ported ones were only made for a short time.

A class III seller had a couple full auto Krinks. His Roumanian PPSh was very tempting. A lot of bayonets but oddly they were mostly for M1 Garand or Turk mausers... No Ital or Steyr bayos.

Saw a couple model 15 S&Ws - one was a 2.5" & I wouldn't mind one, but 450 seemed a trifle steep. All the handguns were pricey & that may be due to Nebr's new CCW law. All the real-deal Colt Govt models were 800 & up. :-o

In the end all I bought was about 100 worth of cheep powder... & primers - which were NOT cheep. Gota have 'em, though.

I was short on sleep but still a very enjoyable morning. Saw a lot of people I knew. It's a small world around here. SW

*edit* Hey kaintuck - saw an 87D Stevens for 75 but was pretty sure you already have one.

The run-up in primer prices is pretty amazing, isn't it? For the do-it-yourselfers, this is the one part that is hardest to make. You can make the bullets, you can cobble brass from one thing into another, and you can even make your own propellant, but the primers are a bit tougher.

If you were there in the 60s, tjhe old B-17 base was still around. It's a big corn field now, but the base housing still survives as low-rent apartments.

Tim,

Nebr finally got a carry concealed law this year. Tough to find a place to take an approved course, though. 100 busks gets you a 5 year license to carry. Ain't got mine yet - still tring to find a course. SW
