I don't know if Western Auto was a big chain store and all across the USA.
But my mom and dad did a lot of shopping there , when I was growing up.
And I loved going there , they sold about everything. My first 3 speed English bike
Came from W.A. my first rifle a revelation
100 , single shot 22 came from WA.
My dad built us a flat bottom boat to go fishing. and he bought a new outboard motor , a 5 HP. Wizard outboard.
So to say this store meant a lot to me
Is a understatement.
About two yr. Ago I was in a GS. Looking
Around and picked up a 30/30 that looked
Like a old marlin. Checking the name/ model , it says Revelation 200 30/30
By the Western Auto stores. And I had a flash back to all those memory s I just told you about. I couldn't put the gun back down. Its the first WA. Gun I have
Seen that I can remember.
After I get it home , I told my wife this was
Going to be her backup deer rifle. In case
She drops her normal gun and mess's up her scope. She can run back to the house
And grab this to use. Checking the ser.#
Don't you know it was made in 1955 the same year my wife was born. This rifle
Means more to me than all the guns I
own.
P.s. the one thing I look for now at all the gun shows I go to is a box of revelation 30/30 ammo. They sold ammo under there store brand name.

yup , we had a western auto , i actually worked there about a year puttin bicycles together , bought all my hunting ammo there and had a revelation 22 - think it was a mossberg made rifle IIRC , sure would like to have that back - still got some ammo from the early 60s , ill look to see what name is on it

I collected Marlins for over 30 years & have the book. When I'm home next, I'll look for it to see what years & how many rifles Marlin made for WA. SW
