I was offered a U.S. GI M1911A1 in 95% condition for $1150. Not cheap, but if you are following the gun shows, that is about $700 cheaper than the table price. It was a Remington Rand and I already have two, so I declined. (Spent too much this year already)....Now though; it haunts me, you don't see alot of clean original guns around, and I could have fit it into next years budget, after all we are only 100 days from years end. It's gone, should have taken his number.

Start saving Mario...there are several Gun show dealers that contact me when they have decent M1911's, or M1903's or U.S. guns that would catch my eye. They know I am a softy, so I will get the call again. I was at a small gun show, and a dealer sent a private seller over. Dealer didn't want to go over $1000 since his profit margin after would have been small, guy wanted a little more. But save, and if the prices don't skyrocket, I will soon have a chance again. For example, I have been refusing all M1 carbines over $700. Just not worth it. I bet though that M1911's will go to $1500 in a year or two. I have 2 Rem Rands, and an Ithaca. Have two Colt M1911's.I need a Colt A1. Had that been a Colt; I would have grabbed it.

...well-it'll take a while to save that much....I'd be happy with a 1911 that just shoots and doesnt have any problems in function....doesnt have to be mint either -just work..... ....how much of a deposit ya want...heck-we better just email
