We have changed the name of the Mississippi Meeting to "Southeast Military Collectors Association" - SEMCA for short. Several reasons for this. We are interested in all military collectors, not just Japanese, and we want to cover a greater area. Secondly, maybe when the time gets here that I cannot host it anymore someone else will do it and keep the Association alive for the next generations. First Weekend in February will stay the date for it. Start making plans to be here Friday and Saturday, earlier if you like. riceone.

Roy, I must say you have the right idea. Speaking as a person a few years younger tha you and as the son of a WW.2 vet of the Pacific Theater, and a collector of Japanese militaria. I say "THANK YOU" very much for saving and preserving these items for future generations to come. Its is kinda sad that the vets from WW.2 are leaving us at such a fast rate but you and other collector like you are helping to keep their spirit alive. Thanks

Gonna stay just like last year. Just needed a name. Everyone I've heard from had a good time and thats how it will stay. We'll have displays, maybe a few things for trade and sell and just a good time talking. All ages. Looking forward to meeting you - simple to get here, you take 40 to Memphis and 61 on down here. We are two hours south of Memphis on 4 lane highway. riceone.

Yes there is a shorter way, I use this a lot. Take 59 from Cleveland down to Gadsden, turn west on 278 go to the other side of Natural bridge and watch for a small highway 129, turn left (south) to Brilliant and there you will connect with Hwy 44 which goes to Guin. Turn right just as you get into Guin (at and intersection) and about 1/2 mile turn left back on 278. About two miles past Greenwood Springs take a left on Hwy 8 and follow it to Cleveland, MS. Get you map down and I think you can figure this out. Sounds complicated but isn't. I go this way several times a year to visit Doss and Bobby Blevins in Hammonsville. riceone

There is a simplier way, maybe a little longer but time wise the same. Take 59 to Tuscaloosa and then take 82 west to Leland and turn north on 61. Little bit of two lane around Alabama/Mississippi line. riceone

If you come the first route by turning at Gadsden, after you leave Cullman it's all two lane. By Birmingham and Tusculoosa all 4 lane except maybe 25 miles and may be less not they are constantly working on it.

CLG, you can also take hwy 72 all the way to memphis. it's 4 lane all the way, but does have stop lights in 3 of the towns on the way. just take I24 to south pittsburgh and get off at the wal mart exit. Keith

it's 4 lane all the way. to go through huntsville, just stay in the left hand lane. it turns into I565 until you hit decatur, then turns into alternate hwy72 to tuscumbia, you don't have make any road changes. just have to turn right in decatur as soon as you get off the tennessee river bridge.
there's stoplights in tuscumbia, corinth mississippi, and one other town close to memphis. when you cross into tennessee, take hwy 387 to 240 and you're in business. you're looking at about 4 1/2 hours to memphis from scottsboro that way.

y'all have a good day, Keith
