So I'm thinking about buying some bulk S&B, told one of my buddies here about it and he about passed a brick. Told me horror stories of squib rounds and inconsistent firing. Now I've shot it before and never had any trouble. But it's got me wondering. What has everybody here heard about S&B?

Never had a problem.

I have fired it without problem, but I think it was Az Fan that told me that some it has primer pocket issues. I would not know I have not tried to reload any of it yet.

Squibs and inconsistant .22lr can also be had from bad storage. Heat and damp are the enemy.
I have 5 , 4,000rds tins, of Russian 70's manufactured laquer'd steel cased .22lr biathalon that is as fresh as Summer's Breez
Great stuff untill it gets damp and sits a spell. Used one tin up , and even though its corrosive, the few box's I keep handy all pop off with no problemo. Just have about 200 left now, outta the box...
Also, some people "bag" their ammo, to carry around,and that can really dent up .22Lr, and get some misformed rounds that are not at all accurate.

Catapiller put "Use clean fuel, and keep it clean" I belive, on every one of their Loader/Tractor fuel lids....same gos for ammo, of course.

I belive untill the late 80's Seilor and Bellot were Czechoslovakia's National ammunition factorys commercial outlet.
They basicly made the laquerd steel cased, 147 gr. silver tipped 7.62X54R I love so much. Never a complaint there!!!

How does ammo take to the cold?

LOL... Just wonderin. My "Gun Room" can get a little chilly in wintertime.

Ive been thinking along the topic of Cold and shooting.

I've evn been thinking about writing about the gear I use, and practical tips on cold weather living.
Ever shatter your composite stock by setting your rifle down too hard?
Ever shave your wood stock to have dry wood for fire starter?
Howabout it being so cold, the slight coat of 3 in 1 oil has your bolt bound like tar or your firing pin taking its sweet time getting its self forward?
How about ranging in on something thats in a total white background, whith snowy ground meeting falling snow sky?

Or should I just focus on Caribou? I mean EVERYTHING Caribou....

That would start with ;
" First, purchase a Finn M-39. Then purchas a stockpile of at least 20, 000 rounds for beginners. Next, Shoot 1/2 of it. Then, if You can hit worth a Chit, move to Alaska....."

NO matter WHAT stockpiling ammo is better than Money in the bank!!!!

Invest in .22lr

Thankfully I can say I none of that has ever happened to me! About as crazy as it gets is some ice on my beard, and breath freezing to metal. If it goes below -10 I usually stay inside

I need to get more .22lr. What I really need is a Ruger 10/22 since I've only got a few .22lr handguns.
