Some of you were showing off your fine hand guns...and it got me wondering. Who has the biggest collection of firearms here? I know I am out of the running with my 2 . (bruce, we will have to get working on that one here in a few months)

Would anyone like to share there numbers? or is this not a question to ask?

i have one 22 rifle.....i keep it on nails right above the barn door just for possum shooting in the hen house.............

Here in Iowa you do go down to your local CLEO (Chief Law Enforcement Officer) fill out a short form, give them $10-15 (depending on the county) and one week later a Annual Permit to Acquire Pistols and Revolvers arrives in the mail. You don't have to ask them for every gun.

Yes, the Sherriff can say no, but it's only cause something came back from the ATF background check, so you wouldn't have been able to have gotten the gun anywhere anyway.

The nice thing about it is: once you get your permit, there is no "seven day waiting period" The background check has already been done on you. Just give 'em the cash and you take the gun out the door the day you want it. Also makes purchases of long-guns quicker if you have it, since, again, no nics check.

As for the highpower season, for the last two years we've had a highpower season in the souther two tiers of counties. Don't have it in the others though, as here in Iowa it just wouldn't be safe. Lotsa farms, lotsa farm houses. Not enough really open land for it here.

I got one a fellow let me take off top of a fence post where it had been hanging with a sign that said "go slow", that was in about 1962. Stock was rotted off and some parts rusted beyond moving. Going to get a stock one day and fix it up. riceone.

Mostly teaching my 10 yr old little bro about gun safety. Although they can be fun for denting pop cans.
