One of my uncles was a guard there in the late 50s. Carried live ammo & the whole bit. The Russky boneyard is actually smaller. They have an aircraft about to "run out of warranty", they spiff it up just enough to last a bit longer & sell it to some 3rd world country.

Minus all the cool bells & whistles, of course. Same for aging armor. The tanks don't even have bore evacuators to blow the smoke from the barrel before a new round is stuffed in the chamber. Or muzzle brakes...

These older systems down-graded for places like Lybia are called "Monkey models" by our spooks. I kinda like that name! SW

pretty cool. the break up yard makes me a little sad though. I wonder just how much money is sitting out there?
