....where in Vermont ya go??...many moons ago I used to go every August to the Stellafane Convention in Springfield...up on top of the mountain-big astronomy get together with folks from all over the world-camped out....fantastic time...beautiful country....loved watching the sunrise over Mt Ascutney after an all night observing session looking thru everyones telescopes...would love to go back there again...

So did you hit any gun shops there? SW

We did the tourist bit to Rapid City, SD. Buffalo Gap National grasslands, too. That was the exciting part! SW

I am not anti-cmp but I have never ordered anything from them.I have seen people ordered them and get a great one and the next time one looked like it got drug behind a truck.
my M1 is a dcm rifle I bought off a geezer that had 10 stashed away.
so I didn't have to grovel or send in my DD214

but all this discussion of CMP is familiar , ive seen it on other sites , some cant say enough , some cant say a thing , and some of us cant say because we dont know ,

im in that last category - but i recall all the banter from clear back when i was a regular on that site 'he' hosted , i always wondered at the hard lines drawn in the sand ,

but like tex pete ill never know - all of my rifles were procured elsewhere when i was seeking and finding them , hope all of you are happy with what you get where ever you find them

...well,bein' in Ohio,CMP is a reasonable drive time distance away from where I'm located(before we moved we wuz waaaaaay closer ),and it was a neat experience to be there in person to pick one out...the history of the area also makes it worth the ride

I hand picked mine also and it was a 15 min drive and free coffee .I am waiting to see if he wants to cut loose the next one. .he never shot these rifles.
