I got these at antique shop Guy said they were only maybe 50 yrs old but wasn't sure and didn't know Cal. I found out their 50 Cal. And possible a self assembly kit. I've took them apart and cleaned them up abit and seen only that their towers and have one other marking of I believe British crown with GR under it. I looked on proofhouse.com & gun accessory.com with no luck any info on them would be greatly appreciated

I see similar flint grinders advertised in Gun Digest beginning in the mid 60s. I can't help with value - I've never seen such offered for sale before.

You might hit the auctions using "flint lock" in the seach bar & see what people are actually bidding. SW

Is the bore actually 50 cal or .58 inch?
The asking price for the originals is $500-600 each.?? The Japanese made kits, but I don't know much about them. I saw a kit (pair) for about $150-250. Some refer to them as tower horse pistols but the one I saw was .69 cal. Nice looking if they are replicas and they probably are if the parts are interchangeable.

so im thinking the crown cypher is there to imitate , but i really know little of flintlocks ,

i do know that crown with GR is commonwealth cypher marking , reign of king george , "GEORGIOUS REX"

and there are a few it could refer to , those i would be familiar with in my collecting are george V [1911-1936] , and george VI [1937-1952] , there was an edward between in 1936 , prior to 1911 there was an edward 1901-1910 and victoria from 1837-1901 ,

so they have to be a model from before 1837 , the next problem is that crown was a later version of the geo V & VI vintage , the early ones of victoria's vintage were a much simpler more stylized stamping ,

i do like the loooks of those , craftsmanship looks super

Well there were Georges from 1714 - 1830 but the land pattern That Rad linked to would be George the III.

George III methinks BUT there are many features which are suspect about your guns - the profile of the lock is not correct in my opinion - note the sharp radius where it should be gently rounded. Also note the sharp square profile of the pan - that just doesnt make sense for it to be an original

Indian manufacture replicas of all sorts of antique British military fire arms have been sold to tourists or motion picture companies for use as props for many years.

Some Turkish made copies of an 18th century French calvary pistol showed up on a motion picture prop forum I used to visit.
I looked into these since I'd seen one just like it at a local antique store.
These were made as issue firearms, they duplicated that model because it was a favorite of the arms imported from Europe. They copied every detail, so it takes a sharp eye to spot these.
Something like the way the Colt Navy revolver was copied by the CSA and by a number of European gunmakers.
Many were bought up in relic condition for use in frontier and pirate movies. Some of these were sold off at studio auctions.
There were probably more Turk copies than there were originals.
