everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!
the RR hole went EXACTLY under the front bolt screw, and the last barrel tenon had to be shortened less than a 1/64" for the drill rod to go over/past it!!!...the front trigger guard spru keeps the RR from it's last 1/2" for a full length RR...but I can live with THAT! screw on jags etc will work!!!
the front lock bolt screw went just perfect by cutting a small channel into the barrel meat~
the top tang screw went into the trigger plate, all the holes tapped and channel hole cleared with a clearance bit by drill press. the barrel tenons were drilled next....all just centered perfect....Jacob and I use a drill stop jig, and a 'backer board' jig...I will have to give Jacob the applause...that fellow can actually see a 1/64" rise in a plane of wood!!! :shocked2:
notice also he trimmed the sides to 3/16" for my final 1/8" ~ scary thin!!! But I have the channel with a thin set of Accuglass to strengthen it and keep warps from trickling in.
now when it's a little warmer in Tom's shop...we will start working the forearm down....then set the RR barrels in place~and nose cap, i will have to decide what type of line to put on the RR channels edge~ :hmm:
but happy tonight??? YOU BETCHA!!!!!!!
better than finding Paris Hiltons undies on the floor in the morning!!
