Since there's plenty of time...
Andrey was asking me about Sambar stag. It's solid clear through & not porous in the center like deer or elk antler. With the rough surface, it's ideal for knife handles.
I asked Dixie what kind of steel was used in the blade, but their knife guy didn't know. It draw filed easily but seemed to hold an edge when I messed around on a piece of dry maple in the back yard.
It won't be a using knife - just for display with my flint grinder musket. It would quickly do in a wild piggy, though. Assuming Mr Piggy didn't get in a couple of bites first.
I am getting a little old for those kind of monkeyshines.
