I've been using different case. Lubes and all seem to work but I have a question, I herd once that STP will work and I was wondering if that's true and has any body tried it. Oh by the way I see all ammo is being hoarded now try finding what your looking for, it stinks!

the shortage has been reality for a while , if you dont have a stockpile of what you generally shoot you may be waiting for it a bit , i decided back a year ago to start shooting 38s for cowboy and bought everything but primers - so im waiting on SPP for now before i complete setup , i will get my dies set this winter tho so im ready when the time comes ,

federal bought the remington ammo facilities so hopefully that will improve soon , remington has not produced anything for two years ,

i have not tried STP - im thinking messy but i dont know that ,

I've used STP for case lube and to size down .277" bullets to .268" for Carcanos. It's great lube, but messy as heck and a real pain to clean up. I stay with Imperial Sizing Wax these days.

Yeah, people are paying STOOPID money for ammo and primers right now. Went to Grafs site to buy bullets and... what bullets?

Fortunately, I'm sitting on about 50# of linotype and can cast what I need. SW

Yeah I was looking at many sites lately almost everything is sold out! I haven't been shooting this year because I have been so busy fixing cars house projects cutting trees chipping and working every day and my gun room became The storage room for every single thing it looked like a hoardermoved in there it was sad!
So I see ther is somebody else resizes .277 down to .268 it woks for me.
So STP does work. Thanks for the message Nebrhogger.

Older daughter bought her hubby a BP rifle for Christmas. Not knowing about such things, she thought you could just waltz into Cabelas or wally for percussion caps.

Not to be. Like all other primers, they're made of unobtainium right now. She showed me a link to the rifle & it uses 209 primers. Fortunately, I had a couple boxes way back in a closet shelf. He gets one but not both. I figure it will take him 4 or 5 years to run through 100 shots. SW

I looked on gunborker for LPP and could not believe what I was seeing people actually pay... like almost $1/per primer! :-o SW

Hey thank you Nebrhogger for the tip on STP it works great!yup it's messy but so was the lube that I was using. And it's definitely less expensive.
Finally ordered some copper plated 30-30 bullets took a month to find them. got them from extreme bullets.com now when the stagecoach gets them here will be another tale, after all they got to rest the horses every few miles and visit the saloons all along the way and tell tall tales.

Are your 45-70 bullets lead or jacketed? App? Did you mean a stimulus check? I got nothing either!

We got ours at the same time our RR retirement $ was auto deposited.

Now that McTurtle will be out of the picture, we might even get more.

Ammo is still stupid expensive. I looked around this morning to see 9mm guns aren't ALL that bad, but ammo was consistently $1 per round on gunborker. So I'll be buying more bullet molds & take advantage of the linotype I have laying around. SW

my 4570 are cast lead - for cowboy long range through my quigly sharps , i also have molds but im short on lead as ive given it all to a friend lately , so i ordered some cast bullets to carry on with my loading - this i have everything except enough powder for as ive not pinned down the exact powder that works best for me ,

i have everything for my 38spcls except the SPP to carry on with that reloading ,

i have everything but primer/shot and wadds for my shotgun reloading ,

so im up against it everywhere i turn except my 45 colt - i have everything for that as well as brass ready to load , so thats what ill be loading for now till all my brass is back to cartridges ready to shoot this year , i had higher hopes for this winter but then i didnt lay my groundwork fast enough in this strange year of weird events , looks like ill get a couple more to wait to rectify this condition ,

For a lot of my loads I use IMR 4198 even in my .45 colt and 44-40 but trail boss is my favorite

Things seem to be getting a little better lately. I tend to check www.ammoseek.com occasionally for going prices and supply.
