One of my 7mm all-matchers. Got it from the same seller as the Standard Modell, unfortunately also with a polished stock, and lol what looks like an unnaturally shiny receiver :-? Working parts all still fit like new though and so it's a good shooter as well

Here's a better pic of the left side of the receiver with the manufacturer stamps. Despite the pimp-shine the stock and probably the white metal got, it's easy to see what a beautiful fit and finish this thing was manufactured with. Look how perfectly the stock and handguard fit together! It's what caught my eye right away, and when I saw all of the matching numbers and the like-new condition of the bore, it was a done deal :D Plus, it's a 7mm caliber...

I agree. The receiver may not be un naturally shiny. I have a couple of SA mausers with shiny in-the-white receivers.

Thanks for the added input .. good to hear that it might be normal for the metal surface on these to have managed to stay so clean over the years! I thought for sure that since the stock had been lightly sanded and refinished to make it look real nice for the sale (the stamped serial in the wood on the right above the recoil crossbolt is no longer sharp) that the metal had been probably touched up as well…
I'm a bit hesitant to shoot this gun too much, given the problem I've already had with recoil crossbolts breaking loose in the stocks of two of my 8x57 K98k's. The recoil of the 7x57 round to me feels much milder than the 8x57 (actually very similar to that of the 6.5x55 Swede which has no recoil crossbolt), so should I even be concerned about the crossbolt in this one breaking loose?

I don't think you will shoot it enough to loosen the cross bolt.
