Yesterday's Weapons Forums

Actually more like avoiding the mall while wife goes dress shopping for one of the grand children. Dropped my better half at the mall with a "I'll just made a quick run across the street to Cabelas for a look around." Came home with a nickeled Remington vest pocket pistol in .41 rimfire, the other a nice brass framed Sharps 4 barrel in .30 rimfire.

(Any body know how Cabelas sets the prices on the C&R and antique they sell?)

I'm not sure of the precise formula, but exponents are involved! Buy low - sell high!.

I have about give up on them. Back in the day when Cabelas was in downtown Sidney nest to the tracks, it was fairly common to see the old guy out in the store. I bought furniture from his brother in Chappell, too.

Now the place is run by bean counters. I have left specific instructions for preppy daughters NOT to sell my Marlin or military collection to them when I croak the bucket! SW

Thats what I thought and only did it to avoid dress shopping. Here is a picture of the gun purchase agreement they sent with me to the paperwork station for checkout with.

The prices are correct even if the sales guy couldn't add worth anything, the register got it right. But I do wonder just how little they paid for them?

couple nice looking little handguns , ive never found one at a price i thought fair - yet , i do like what you got tho

Strangest part of it is that nobody in the "Gun Library" or gun counter area even knew what they were or what the calibers were. The guy manning the gun room did not know how to open the actions and told me they had been add to the case less than 5 minutes ago then asked if I knew what they were, said nobody in the gun room could ID them. Personally I think somebody lost their mind to have price them like that. (And frankly I would have to be even more out of my mind to not grab them. )

....no Cabela's near me that I know of,so I never went into one....may have to seek one out...

Good hunting and best of luck to you Herr Mario, first time I ever saw a price on the firearms line that wasn't high there, I'll go back when I'm in the area but bet I don't get lucky like this agin, shoot can't believe it happened this time.
Oh this one is in Columbus across from polaris mall.

I haven't been to that one yet. Maybe we need to get the OH contingent and make a trip over to look around.
