Picked this up at the same show as the Weaver K-4:
It's a crosman Optimus.
For a blonde birch stock, it ain't too bad.
Strong rifling for a pellet rifle. Decent breech seal. The breech face needs a lot of cleaning up- it's awfully hard to seat a competition grade pellet in there. This job is quite similar to a crown clean-up. It's just on the other end of the bore.
With everyday run of the mill 7.9 gr crosman pointed pellets, no loading problems. She's averaging 465.6 fps over ten shots, and the extreme spread is low- 6-8 fps over 4 different strings. Lotta good potential here. Paid about 80 u.s. for it new. Came with a real junk 4x32 Chinese scope.
I like the stock contours. Once I get the power plant working proper at low 9's, I'll see about cherrying up the stock...
