Since I took so little time off when I was working, I didn't trim trees like I should have. In the alley, things got out of hand with a lot of dead branches above my power, cable and phone lines. My fear was a wet, sloppy snow that would weigh them down to crash against the wires leaving us in the dark just when we didn't want to be there in a storm. SiL's uncle has a tree trimming service. His 3 guys trimmed and cleaned up in an hour. I put a pencil to it, and by the time I'd have bought a chainsaw and rented a bucket, I figure I was money ahead having them do the deal. Used the last of the insurance $ from a big hail storm a couple years ago and am glad I did. But something else will come along - always does. SW Before they showed up - what a mess! Your leaves haven't dropped yet. Our elms are almost completely bald here. Having that job done will make your yard-work a little less work to boot. Regards, Doc Sharptail |
