Bulgarian Nomenclature for M95 Reworks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been wondering what nomenclature the Bulgarians used for the M95 long arms that they bought from the Germans in the late 1930's. Did they call them by their original name, or have another?

Recently I discovered on the net that they did have a new "name" for these weapons. They were called:

"Karabina Mannlicher obrasetz 1939g"

More simply put, in the Bulgarian Army they were a Model 1939. A former co-worker, who used to be an ordnance officer in the Bulgarian Army, referred to them simply as "Mannlichers."

Oddly enough, they had a different name for the older contract rifles that Bulgaria bought early in the 20th century. These were re-named as above, only with the different year of "1938g." Why they would make a distinction between the two is beyond me.
