It is in a kreigsmodell stock that has been duffle cut.

The scope is an unmarked Kahles 4x60 (slightly foggy) and the rings are marked to each other but do not match the rifle.

The stock is marked with matching serial numbers in the barrel channel, the hand guard is unmarked..

The stock has the hole in the butt for the kreigsmodell cupped buttplate.  This rifle has the  sniper buttplate and stock disc.  The bolt is correct kreigsmodell with extractor ring marked 359, other bolt parts are unmarked.

Yes, Neb it is 1945 and everything is kreigsmodell with the "mod98" on the receiver top rather than being on the side rail as per all other K98 rifles. The only difference from a regular 1945 k98 and the sniper version is the butt plate and it has the stock disc. From what I can gather only the sniper wood was stamped in the barrel channel in 1945 at BYF, so that seems correct. I assumed from my limited knowledge that when the checkered butt plate was put on they used the stock take down disc? It would seem to me that a simpler method would have been to just drill the checkered plate with the hole as per other kreigsmodell rifles, as the wood has the hole there already. But, Hitler didn't ask for my opinion so they did it this way! :lol

For some reason, Uncle Adolf wasn't thinking clearly in 1945! ;) SW
